Several years ago, in a weak moment, I said yes to doing TV commercials [that’s me above in a doctor’s lab coat!]
Despite being a completely unplanned chapter in life, I got to meet some really cool people on a journey that literally took me around the world!
Unlike the thrill of that surprise, right now is a funkier kind of time. I KNOW it’s gonna get better, and you probably do too, but you may not FEEL that way. Especially when heroes like Tom Hanks contract Covid-19, we are reminded that life can change in a blink.
Beyond a true vaccine, right now meaningful community may be the best medicine for you and me. In other words:
- A place where you can express yourself without judgment
- A place where you can find hope, not pessimism
- A place where even in hardship you can grow and find meaning
No, I’m not a doctor. But I was on the Navy medical staff as an Aerospace Physiologist for several years, and two subsequent decades as a minister honed my skills and desire to help people navigate the most broken and desperate moments of their lives.
So I’d like to make you an offer: if you are reading this and don’t want a therapist or an intervention – but just want to speak with someone competent to listen and (maybe) offer some compassionate feedback, here is my calendar link. I’ve opened up 4 hours each week for the next 3 weeks to listen and help in any way I can.
